Folks take me for a nincompoop on account of the shabby first impression I make, whereas I think of myself as being a rung down from the James brothers.

That’s it. That’s Greek mythology.
I watched the movie first, fell in love with it and decided to go buy the book and to tell you the truth … they literally changed nothing from the book to the movie. Even dialogue, to what each character is doing (little things, like scratching their nose while talking is in the movie). I’m one of those people that likes to watch the movie first but that’s just me. And I was smiling while reading because it’s one of the best book to film adaptations I have ever seen, mainly thanks to the director and Brad Pitt keeping it true. Pitt even had it in his contract they couldn’t change the title .. they had to keep The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. It’s also his favorite role he’s ever played and I can see why.
I’m personally obsessive about Jesse James (the outlaw) and the book and movie are just … GAH.
But like I said, it doesn’t really matter if you choose to start with the book or the movie, but personally I’d start the movie and if you love the movie then you’ll love the book even more. I’m just sad the original movie was 4 hours and they said no one wants to see a 4 hour movie and made them cut it down to the 2 hours and 40 minutes. D: They didn’t even release the full 4 hours on a special DVD or anything .. assholes.
When I went to buy the book, there was only one copy left in my entire town and I squealed like a little girl. It took me even longer to find the movie to buy (and I don’t just buy movies for the hell of it … it’s gotta be special for me to want to buy it).
Look at me … I’m rambling on and on. ;_; I SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS MOVIE AND BOOK AND I FEEL HONORED YOU ASKED ME!! xD
